The Dallas Mavericks’ Kyrie Irving suffered a fractured left hand whereas coaching and required surgical procedure, the workforce introduced Tuesday.
The Mavericks did not present additional particulars of Irving’s harm or his timeline to return. It is unclear how he sustained the harm or what particular bone or bones in his hand had been damaged.
“He sustained the harm earlier this month whereas coaching,” the workforce’s assertion reads. “Additional medical updates on Irving’s standing can be supplied as applicable.”
The Mavericks’ season ended on June 17 with a Sport 5 loss to the Boston Celtics within the NBA Finals. The schedule for the upcoming season hasn’t been launched but. Coaching camp typically begins in early October and the common season just a few weeks later that month. The Mavericks did not present readability on whether or not Irving is anticipated again in time to begin the common season.
An eight-time All-Star and three-time All-NBA choice, Irving helped lead the Mavericks alongside MVP finalist Luka Dončić to their first Finals look since they gained the NBA title in 2011.
